12 players receive green room invitations for 2023 NBA Draft

The NBA on Tuesday sent out the first wave of green room invitations for the draft to 12 players, sources told ESPN.

Included on the list of invitees is projected No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama, a 7-foot-3 phenom from France who is widely considered to be the best prospect since LeBron James. Other notable invitees include Scoot Henderson (No. 2), Cam Whitmore (No. 3), and Nick Smith Jr. (No. 4).

The green room is a special area at the draft where the top prospects are invited to sit and wait for their names to be called. It is a highly coveted invitation, and it is a sign that the NBA believes that a player has a chance to be a star in the league.

The 2023 NBA Draft will be held on June 22 in New York City.
