Manchester City have extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a thrilling 6-3 victory over Leicester City on Sunday. The win moves Pep Guardiola's side six points clear of second-placed Liverpool with a game in hand.
City started the match brightly and took the lead through Riyad Mahrez in the 14th minute. Leicester responded well and equalised through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall just three minutes later. However, City regained the lead shortly after through Erling Haaland, who scored his 20th goal of the season in all competitions.
The visitors then took control of the game and scored three goals in quick succession through Jack Grealish, Ilkay Gundogan, and Kevin De Bruyne. Leicester pulled one back through James Maddison, but City restored their three-goal advantage through a penalty from Mahrez.
Leicester continued to fight until the end and scored a consolation goal through Harvey Barnes in the 89th minute. However, it was too little too late for the Foxes, as City held on for a vital victory.
The win takes City six points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table. The Reds have a game in hand, but City will be confident they can maintain their advantage until the end of the season.
